Visited here for lunch on our way home from a gallivant around south Gippsland!
This great art deco hotel has modern facilities and is fresh and welcoming.
The staff were helpful and the food was enjoyable. I had the fish and chips and it was a solid performance. The Parma and lamb salad looked great too.
The hotel also has local art all over the place which adds a great vibe while also supporting artists too.
I assume this place gets busy during peak season so take that into consideration.
Heard a lot of good things about this pub from friends, was keen to try out. Wasn’t phased by the prices as meal portions seemed decent. When receiving my meal it came pretty quickly 2 Parma’s looked good at first but sadly were both dry, chip were crunchy but far from warm. Left disappointed.
Very disappointed. We have been going to Fish Creek Hotel each year on our annual Prom trip. We have always looked forward to it. Each year we leave full and satisfied. Not this year. Not sure if it’s changed hands but it was poor. Fish and Chips used to be three good size portions this has dropped to two small pieces. The Fish was very overcooked and not fresh at all! Chips ok. Salad was basic. Open Souvlaki was cold and was ok at best, wasnt restaurant quality at allZ Only reason it’s two star rather than one was kids loved the Nuggets and Chips. Maybe a good kids restaurant? We’ll try a different venue next year. Let us know your suggestions.
Nice country pub, great art on the walls, with a lot of older photos from the area, very friendly and competent staff, with quick service. OK selection of beer, good pub menu with a few great looking extras. Well worth the stop.
This is a classic, coastal, Australian pub that is a must see for all down this way. I had the fish and chips and it was superb. The staff are awesome also!
Great building. Nice to see it painted. But that’s where it stops. Underwhelming menu Very average meal. Uninspired beer and wine choices for somewhere in the middle of a regional culinary hot spot
I guess the misunderstanding began when I sighted their advertisement board on the main road that suggested meals were served 7 days a week from 12 noon onwards. Onwards apparently concludes at 2:30pm sharp. The misleading signage policy continued upon entry where the sign read 'please wait to be seated by our 'friendly staff''. Friendly isn't how I would've described the lady with a mouth full of food who told us the kitchen was closed at 2:31pm.
The kids had spag bol, really fair serve and yum… they ate it all.
My husband had the burger and I had pork belly, we both enjoyed our meals and the service was lovely.
The pub has a friendly crew and the place is clean and tidy.
